We strive to be part of the solution
Beautiful… but non-renewable
Natural stones such as granite and marble are a beautiful but non-renewable resource that have been used in construction since ancient times. Natural stone for countertops and other building applications is quarried in faraway places, cut into massive blocks, and processed into large slabs that are transported throughout the world. Quartz is mined, ground-up and aggregated with other minerals, resins and colours, then compressed and baked under high heat. Fabricators then cut these slabs, polish, deliver and install finished countertops and construction components in our communities. These are complex, expensive and carbon-intensive activities. It therefore makes good environmental and economic sense to maintain, repair, restore and re-purpose natural and engineered stone surfaces to extend the life of these non-renewable resources and to minimize the impact on our environment.
We are eco-conscious
We are continually monitoring our processes so that we operate our business in the most environmentally responsible manner possible. These measures include -
Whenever possible, use of products that are not classified as hazardous according to applicable Canada workplace and consumer product safety regulations
Use of water-based, non-VOC cleaners and sealers
Use of natural source abrasives and compounds
Minimizing the use of single-use products and supplies
Application of responsible dust control measures
Use of mechanical devices instead of epoxy whenever possible
Responsible recycling and disposal of waste in accordance with local guidelines
